2017 Mike Robinson Tournament – Sept 23

This year’s Mike Robinson Tournament will take place on Saturday, September 23rd. Our annual memorial tournament honours a wonderful friend of the Gaels and celebrates the excitement of our great sport in a fun, co-ed, family-friendly Gaelic Football tournament that is not too serious and spans the ages from 14 up to 70! As part of the days’ activities there is also a youth tournament for up and coming Gaelic footballers. The Youth portion of our tournament will run from 10am-12pm while Seniors games will play from 11am-4pm. The Ottawa Gaels are returning to Almonte Celtfest on Saturday, July 8th. We will be hosting Gaelic Football youth games, a skills competition, and a football demo for parents. Be sure to stick around to watch the Ottawa Gaels ladies and men’s teams compete in exhibition play. Celtfest is a fun weekend of Ottawa Valley and Celtic entertainment, performed in the natural amphitheater of Gemmill Park in the heart of Almonte. It is a time to share the historical Celtic traditions with today’s local performers. Celtfest also presents a select group of unique artisans and vendors of specialty goods with a Celtic flair. Gaels Sending Good Luck to the Team Canada East Ladies

The Ottawa Gaels are wishing good luck to the Team Canada East Ladies team competing in Friday’s Ladies Football Native Finals at Croke Park in Ireland. Canada East will face off against New York GAA on Friday at 9am Ottawa time. 13 of the 15 athletes representing Canada at the 2016 Etihad Airways GAA World Games are from the Ottawa Gaels. Ottawa Gaels well represented on Team Canada for World GAA Games in Ireland this summer

It was recently announced on the GAA website that this August the World GAA games will be played in Dublin, Ireland. More than 1,700 Gaelic footballers, hurlers and camogie players from 10 regions around the globe will be bringing Gaelic games to Ireland for the 2016 Etihad Airways GAA World Games in Dublin. A total of 87 teams from 20 countries will travel to Dublin for a week-long festival of Gaelic games activity between August 7 and 14 at UCD’s Belfield campus, with the finals being played at Croke Park. Teams from as far away as Australia, South Africa, and Argentina will be present, as well as teams from China, Canada, the Middle East, the US, Europe, and Britain. Senior Training Dates For Winter 2016

The Ottawa Gaels Senior training dates for the first months of 2016 are now scheduled. From January though April, we’ll get together for Co-Ed training sessions at indoor field locations throughout the Ottawa region. These training sessions will culminate in competition dates in April including: Superleague matches on April 9th and the 2016 Spring Thaw Co-ed Tournament on April 30th.
