Training Times:
January 3, to April 25
Ladies – Tuesday nights 9:30-10:30 Fonderie
Men’s – Tuesday nights 9:00-10:00 Fonderie
Co-ed – Saturdays, PETES – Workout sessions on Saturday mornings, from 10:30-12:00pm at PETES, January 14-Apr 21. Similar to last year, we will do drills, stations, burpees (oh yes!), sprints, and indoor games with a gaelic twist. Fee is a $2 donation for the PETES food program in lieu of gym rental. Come one, come all. Open to everyone!

2017 Mike Robinson Tournament – Sept 23

This year’s Mike Robinson Tournament will take place on Saturday, September 23rd. Our annual memorial tournament honours a wonderful friend of the Gaels and celebrates the excitement of our great sport in a fun, co-ed, family-friendly Gaelic Football tournament that is not too serious and spans the ages from 14 up to 70! As part of the days’ activities there is also a youth tournament for up and coming Gaelic footballers! GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail to visit Ottawa

The Ottawa Gaels are thrilled to announce that GAA President, Aogán Ó Fearghail will be visiting Ottawa Wednesday and Thursday, August 2nd and 3rd. This is an historic first visit of a GAA President to Ottawa and provides us with an unprecedented opportunity to showcase our Ladies, Men’s and Youth programs! We invite all members past and present, young and old to join us for a showcase of the Ottawa Gaels, Wednesday, August 2nd at Stephen Leacock school in Kanata, from 6:30-8:00pm. We urge you all to please make an effort to attend Kanata on Wednesday night for the GAA President’s visit. We want to showcase the passion and love of this sport evident within our club. The Ottawa Gaels at 2017 Almonte Celtfest

The Ottawa Gaels are returning to Almonte Celtfest on Saturday, July 8th. We will be hosting Gaelic Football youth games, a skills competition, and a football demo for parents. Be sure to stick around to watch the Ottawa Gaels ladies and men’s teams compete in exhibition play. Celtfest is a fun weekend of Ottawa Valley and Celtic entertainment, performed in the natural amphitheater of Gemmill Park in the heart of Almonte. It is a time to share the historical Celtic traditions with today’s local performers. Celtfest also presents a select group of unique artisans and vendors of specialty goods with a Celtic flair. 2017 Pig Roast Extravaganza

The summer tradition returns! We’re hosting our fourth annual pig roast extravaganza on Saturday, July 15th, at 4PM. Celebrate summer and spend time with your teammates, friends and their families. Cold Beer, wine, pop, juice, salads, hot dogs and desserts will be served. Tickets will cost $25 for adults and $5 for children (after July 8th tickets are $30/adult). Gaelic Football Summer Camp Dates and Information

The Ottawa Gaels will once again be running a series of summer day camps for kids ages 6-12 in July. Campers who register will learn the basics of Gaelic Football through our FUNdamental Skill Development Program with mini games and daily competitions. Interactive instruction will be provided by experienced coaches from Ireland in a well supervised, high coach-to-player ratio environment. When not on the pitch, campers enjoy other activities including a daily swim at the local municipal pool and co-operative outdoor games, all while learning about Irish culture through the coaches and guest instructors. Campers bring their own lunch. Snacks are provided. Email youthfootball@ottawagaels.ca with further inquiries. Ottawa Gaels Golf Tournament Fundraiser – June 10

The Ottawa Gaels invite you to our annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser to benefit our Youth Development Program. This year’s Tournament will take place on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at Loch March Golf Club in Kanata. A player package that includes 18 holes of golf, a power cart, BBQ lunch and a Roast beef dinner with all the trimmings is available for $150 per player. A dinner only option is also available at a cost of $35. We’ll also be holding a Hole in One contest, Longest Drive contest and a Closest to Pin contest, in addition to giving away raffle prizes. New Pub Trivia Night – March 31st, 2017

Join us for another trivia night on Friday, March 31st! In 2001, Julia Roberts won the Oscar for best actress. Who were the other nominees? If these trivial facts are bouncing around in your grey matter, then the Ottawa Gaels have got a night for you! We’re hosting a pub quiz night at The Glen Scottish Pub, in Stittsville on Friday, March 31st at 8:30 PM. Youth Gaelic Football Try It Sessions – Free!

Join us for our free sessions to learn how to play Gaelic Football! This in an introduction to the sport for those who have never played and a chance to play for the first time in 2017 for those who have. We will run two sessions of one hour each 8-9am and 9-10am. Drop in at whatever time suits you best! Our first session will take place on Sunday, February 12 for kids ages U8 and U10. Our second session is scheduled for Sunday, March 5th.
