The Ottawa Gaels are thrilled to welcome a St. Mary’s student from Ireland to coach Gaelic football and Hurling/Camogie. Twenty-one year old Rebecca Coyle hails from a small village called Greencastle in County Tyrone. The very same County as our talented Angela Stevenson! She plays Gaelic football for her local Ladies Gaelic football club, called Sperrin Óg situated in Greencastle. Rebecca has been playing Gaelic Football from a very young age. She began with Sperrin Óg from the age of 6 years old and has played from U6’s right through to senior football. She has received many county league and championship medals along the way. Senior Registration Now Open for 2019 Season

As the Ottawa Gaels prepare for another summer season of Gaelic Football, new and long-time Men’s and Ladies members alike are encouraged to sign up for membership as soon as possible. Early bird Full Membership for the 2019 season is now available at a cost of $175. We will also be offering a non-player membership at a cost of $35. Register before March 17th and you will be entered into a draw for GAA swag! Registration closes April 15th. Members should note that in order to play in the Montreal tournament on May 19th, their membership must be paid. We also require athletes to fill out and return a waiver form. The Ottawa Gaels are pleased to be hosting a Gaelic football refereeing clinic on February 16th, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Twin Elm Rugby Club. This clinic, which is being offered free of charge, will provide participants with the knowledge of rules and refereeing needed to get started. This clinic is open to anyone 16+ years of age. We encourage our youth players who are 16+ to attend. Attendees will start developing skills during the winter league in the dome under the guidance of certified referee tutors while working towards certification. On October 28th, the Ottawa Gaels held their Annual General Meeting at the Heart and Crown in the Byward Market, and looked back on another successful year for the club. In addition to reviewing last year’s highlights, the Gaels turned their attention towards the future, nominating a new club for the 2018-2019 season.
