We are very excited to announce that the Ottawa Gaels have planned a Club Day, in Almonte, on August 28th! Our Club Day aims to build camaraderie amongst our youth and senior players, and allow our new players to get game experience in a fun and constructive environment. Whether you’ve been playing for years, are brand new, or have been a lifelong supporter or friend of the club and want to try your hand (or foot) at it, all are welcome to join us for some development workshops, skills challenges, and games! The Club Day will kick off at 9.30 AM with our Youth activities before our Senior players take the pitch. And we’ll be hosting All-Ages Skills Challenges from 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM! Want to try out new sports? Gaelic football is a fast-paced, dynamic field sport that combines the skills of soccer, basketball and volleyball. Use this link as an introduction to the sport and come out to training to try it yourself! As we leave behind the lockdowns of 2020-2021 and head back onto the pitch, it is important to keep health and safety at the centre of all our club activities. We would invite you to review the updated Return to Gaelic Games Guidelines in English or French in advance of any Return to Play as it is a comprehensive COVID-19 Response as to how the CGAA clubs should be proceeding with training in the near future. Kindly note these guidelines are subject to modification should the Ontario Provincial Governments’ guidelines change. On October 25th, the Ottawa Gaels held their Virtual Annual General Meeting and looked back on a very successful, but interesting year for the club. In addition to reviewing last year’s highlights, the Gaels turned their attention towards the future, nominating a new club for the 2020-2021 season. This group will guide the Gaels through the coming season, working hard to build on the success of the past year and to maintain the tremendous momentum that has propelled our association forward.
