Men’s Team Triumph at Montreal May Tournament
This past weekend, the Ottawa Gaels Senior men’s team traveled to Montreal for the Montreal Shamrocks annual May tournament. 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the Shamrocks, so this year’s tournament took on a special meaning which was reflected in the participating clubs who came from Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto, Halifax, Calgary and Albany (NY). Our men’s team took part in the junior competition, bringing a panel of 15 players with mixed levels of experience. At the end of a great day Ottawa came home champions for the third time in four years, after beating Calgary and Albany in group play, Halifax in the semifinals and then Calgary again in the final. Senior Registration Now Open for 2018 Season
As the Ottawa Gaels prepare for another summer season of Gaelic Football, new and long-time Men’s and Ladies members alike are encouraged to sign up for membership as soon as possible. Early bird Full Membership for the 2018 season is now available at a cost of $125. Registration after May 1st will cost $150. We will also be offering a non-player membership at a cost of $35. Members should note that in order to play in the Montreal tournament on May 19th, their membership must be paid. We also require athletes to fill out and return a waiver form.
