Welcoming Our New Student Coach!
The Ottawa Gaels are thrilled to welcome a St. Mary’s student from Ireland to coach Gaelic football and Hurling/Camogie.
Twenty-one year old Rebecca Coyle hails from a small village called Greencastle in County Tyrone. The very same County as our talented Angela Stevenson! She plays Gaelic football for her local Ladies Gaelic football club, called Sperrin Óg situated in Greencastle.
Rebecca has been playing Gaelic Football from a very young age. She began with Sperrin Óg from the age of 6 years old and has played from U6’s right through to senior football. She has received many county league and championship medals along the way.
She now plays for the senior team where she was the captain last year while playing in Division 1.
She now also helps out with her club, coaching Gaelic start for U6’s boys and girls and helping out coaching other underage Gaelic football teams within her club.
During the summer Rebecca also coached for the Tyrone summer camps.

Rebecca also had a career playing for her county team, County Tyrone. She played from U14 right through to minor football.
Rebecca is currently a final year student in St. Mary’s University College. She is studying Physical Education with the aim to qualify as a Primary school teacher.
Rebecca has also played Gaelic football for her University team for the past three years. Her squad were very successful last year, receiving All- Ireland medals for league and championship.
