Return of the Ottawa Gaels Annual Spaghetti Dinner!
The Ottawa Gaels are delighted to host our first Spaghetti Dinner in 4 years! We’re very excited to gather once again in the Kildare Room at St. Brigid’s for a hearty meal, live music, and a good catch up with friends. Come on down for a good meal, with good friends. We’ll also be raffling off our Ottawa Gaels GAA apparel. Expect to see some of our local musicians up on the stage for a session as well! Join us on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, from 5PM-8PM at St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. We are very excited to announce that the Ottawa Gaels have planned a Club Day in Kanata, May 29th 2022! Our Club Day aims to build camaraderie amongst our youth and senior players, and allow our new players to get game experience in a fun and constructive environment. Whether you’ve been playing for years, are brand new, or have been a lifelong supporter or friend of the club and want to try your hand (or foot) at it, all are welcome to join us for some development workshops, skills challenges, and games! The Club Day will kick off at 10 AM with our Youth activities before our Senior players take the pitch around noon. Whether your sport of choice is Camogie/Hurling or Gaelic Football, there will be an opportunity for you to get moving on the pitch and show off your skills!All club members are welcome and encouraged to come out for all events, not just their own code! Are you curious and want to try out a new sport? Our GAA 4 Girls program welcomes players of all experience levels with a YOB of 2009-2014. It offers a fun and engaging introduction to Gaelic Football and Camogie in a safe and engaging environment. Gaelic football is a fast-paced, dynamic field sport that combines the skills of soccer, basketball and volleyball. Camogie/Hurling is a fast-paced field sport that features skills similar to those of Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Ringette, Baseball, or even Softball. Fridays, 6.00 – 7.30pmLocation: Naismith Memorial PS, 260 King Street, Almonte. Players are welcome to attend both additional Almonte and Kanata Youth sessions. For ages 15+, please see our Senior Ladies training schedule. In 2021, our GAA community lost a beloved club member and dear friend, Jarlath Connaughton. Jarlath will always remain in our hearts, minds, and in the memories we shared with him. To further commemorate the impact that Jarlath had on our community and in the development of our youth programs, the Ottawa Gaels are proud and delighted to announce that our annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser, for youth development, will now be re-named the Jarlath Connaughton Memorial Golf Tournament. We invite our GAA community to join us on Saturday June 18th, 2022 at Irish Hills Golf & Country Club, for a fun and meaningful day of golf, friends, fundraising, and to pay tribute to our dear friend Jarlath.
