The Ottawa Gaels will be participating in the Almonte Celtfest on July 5-6. On July 5, the Gaels will be hosting Gaelic Football youth games, a skills competition, and a football demo for parents. Be sure to stick around to watch the Ottawa Gaels women’s team play against Durham at 4:00, and then another match against St. Mikes on Sunday at 1:00. See below for a full schedule and more details about the festival. Celtfest is a fun weekend of Ottawa Valley and Celtic entertainment, performed in the natural amphitheater of Gemmill Park in the heart of Almonte. The Ottawa Gaels have planned a summer camp for kids ages 5-12 in Kanata from July 14th to 18th. Campers who register will learn the basics of Gaelic Football through our FUNdamental Skill Development Program with mini games and daily competitions. Interactive instruction will be provided by coaches from Ireland including Tom Murphy, a certifiedand highly talented coach from County Carlow in a well supervised, high coach-to-player ratio environment. When not on the pitch, campers enjoy other activities including a daily swim at the local municipal pool and co-operative outdoor games, all while learning about Irish culture through the coaches and guest instructors.
