The Ottawa Gaels at the 2015 Almonte Celtfest
The Ottawa Gaels will once again be participating in the Almonte Celtfest. Starting at 9am on Saturday on July 11th, the Gaels will be hosting a Gaelic Football youth tournament that will run until noon. From 1-2pm, attendees will be treated to a Hurling demonstration from Éire Óg Ottawa Hurling Club. Attendees will be able to take in a pair of afternoon match ups as the Ottawa Gaels men’s team will play against Montreal, followed by a Women’s match up between the Gaels and a team of Toronto women. The Ottawa Gaels are pleased to welcome two highly qualified and experienced Gaelic Football coaches from Ireland to head up our youth development program. Angela Stevenson and Emmett Stewart will be teaching Gaelic Football to students in Ottawa and Almonte schools. The coaching will be delivered to students from Grade 1 to 8 as part of the Phys Ed curriculum as well as through our community programs in Kanata, Riverside South and Almonte. Our association is extremely fortunate to be welcoming such talent to teach and coach in our youth programs.
