2017 Coaches Foundation Course – April 30th
The Ottawa Gaels will be running two Gaelic Football coaching courses this year on Sunday, April 30th. Many of you are already coaching our young athletes and this course will further strengthen your coaching resources. The Gaels want to encourage more seniors to get the training and join us on the field, as the feedback our club has received form the parents and the kids is that the youth really look up to us (especially the girls!) and are excited to be coached by senior players, who they see as role models. March with us in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and then join us for the Beau’s Party at Lansdowne! The Ottawa Gaels are excited to once again be taking part in the annual Irish Society of The National Capital Region Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 11th, 2017. The Parade will leave the intersection of Elgin St. and Laurier Avenue West at 11:00am, proceed westward along Laurier to Bank Street and then south on Bank Street to Lansdowne Park. At the conclusion of the parade, Lansdowne will be home to the Beau’s St. Patrick’s Day Party inside the Aberdeen Pavilion. On October 30th, the Ottawa Gaels held their Annual General Meeting at the Heart and Crown in the Byward Market, and looked back on a very successful year for the club. In addition to reviewing last year’s highlights, the Gaels turned their attention towards the future, nominating a new club for the 2016-2017 season. This group will guide the Gaels through the coming season, working hard to build on the success of the past year and to maintain the tremendous momentum that has propelled our association forward.
