The Ottawa Gaels invite you to join us for the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM), taking place on Sunday, October 24th at 1pm. This year’s AGM will be held virtually. The link will be provided closer to the day. Our AGM gives our members and supporters an opportunity to hear from our board about the association’s performance and achievements over the past year. Join us as we review the year’s highlights and select our executive committee for the coming year. The AGM is open to all registered members of the Ottawa Gaels. For the last decade, the Ottawa Gaels GAA has been delighted to host the annual Mike Robinson Charity Football tournament, in memory of our late friend, player, and Club member, Mike Robinson. A full day of Gaelic Football with friends and teammates, both locals and visitors from other GAA clubs, has been a wonderful and meaningful way to commemorate our friend, and gather as a community. This year marks our 10th annual Mike Robinson tournament, on Saturday, September 18th from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We are very excited to announce that the Ottawa Gaels have planned a Club Day, in Almonte, on August 28th! Our Club Day aims to build camaraderie amongst our youth and senior players, and allow our new players to get game experience in a fun and constructive environment. Whether you’ve been playing for years, are brand new, or have been a lifelong supporter or friend of the club and want to try your hand (or foot) at it, all are welcome to join us for some development workshops, skills challenges, and games! The Club Day will kick off at 9.30 AM with our Youth activities before our Senior players take the pitch. And we’ll be hosting All-Ages Skills Challenges from 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM! Whether your sport of choice is Camogie/Hurling or Gaelic Football, there will be an opportunity for you to get moving on the pitch and show off your skills! As we leave behind the lockdowns of 2020-2021 and head back onto the pitch, it is important to keep health and safety at the centre of all our club activities. We would invite you to review the updated Return to Gaelic Games Guidelines in English or French in advance of any Return to Play as it is a comprehensive COVID-19 Response as to how the CGAA clubs should be proceeding with training in the near future. Kindly note these guidelines are subject to modification should the Ontario Provincial Governments’ guidelines change. Prior to returning to Gaelic Games activities ALL MEMBERS MUST sign: updated CGAA Waiver Form prior to commencing Gaelic Games Training, this is the responsibility of each individual club to ensure that this has been executed upon.
